Thank you for selecting what many believe to be the finest Professional Grade modular
plug presser available anywhere.
Our presser was designed especially for the professional craftsperson, to give the greatest
possible reliability, comfort, convenience, and utility.
Each of our pressers is precision-built at our factory in Pennsylvania using only the highest
quality materials, so you can be sure your tool will be as tough as the job it's meant to per-
form.
Our name is stamped right on the outside so each presser carries our lifelong pledge of ser-
vice and support to you, no matter how long you own your tool.
To assure that your presser will give you many years of reliable, trouble-free operation,
please read the following directions thoroughly before you use your tool.
Setting Up Your Presser
Select the correct plug and corresponding
die (see other side of instruction sheet).
Push the die all the way into the slot until
the ball bearing detent in the die clicks
into place on the tool. Push from opposite
side to remove the die.
Maintenance: One thing you should do periodically is
lubricate the moveable handle and pawl shaft with a light
dab of silicone. This will help keep them working smoothly
and quietly.
Treat your presser as you would any other valued work-
place tool. In particular, avoid exposing it to excessive
amounts of dust, dirt, chemicals, water or improper use.
If your presser ever needs readjustment, just return it to us
and we'll be happy to reset it at no cost to you. (shipping
and any additional repair costs due to misuse or incidental
damage are not included.)
Modular Plug Presser
1. Cut the cable to the required length
and remove about 1-1/2” to 2”
(38-51 mm) of the outside insulation.
Be careful not to nick the underlying
wire.
2. Un-twist the cable pairs and
straighten each wire between your
fingers
.
3. Place the wires in the order of one
of the two diagrams to right. While
holding the wires flat and together, cut
the excess leaving about 1/2” (13mm).
4. Carefully guide the wires (contacts
facing up) into the plug being careful
not to cross them.
5. Insert the connector (contacts fac-
ing up) in the tool until it hits the rear
stop pin. Ensure the outer insulation is
under the strain relief. Squeeze down
all the way on the crimper. Release
and remove the plug.
6. Ensure all the contacts are crimped down. Repeat on
other end.

Note for Left-handers
Your GMP Modular Plug Presser works equally well in either hand. To
adapt your presser for left-handed use, remove the locking screws inside
each handle with a hex wrench, swap the handles, retighten the screws, and
reverse the hand procedures shown on this page. (Make sure you keep the
stripper parts in their original positions.)
